Coronavirus: Buhari Extends Condolences To China

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his sympathy to China over the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

Over 300 persons have been killed by the novel virus which broke out in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province in China.

In a statement, Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, Buhari was quoted as saying that it was only a matter of time “before this nightmare passes.”

The statement read, “President Muhammadu Buhari extends his good wishes to President Xi Jinping and citizens of the Peoples Republic of China during this trying time. ”

“China’s efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus have been exemplary, as well as the country’s collaboration with international agencies and other countries on the matter.

“President Buhari notes that China has been exceptionally supportive of Nigeria and Africa, and even more so in recent years; therefore, it is important to let China know that Nigeria and her citizens are also standing by them during this outbreak.

“With all the efforts being put in, we know that it is only a matter of time before this nightmare passes. He prays that God will comfort the Chinese and others who have already lost family members and loved ones to the disease.”

FA Cup: Man Utd set condition to sack Solskjaer, identify replacement

Manchester United may consider sacking manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, if results do not improve at the Old Trafford this season, the Daily Mail reports. England boss, Gareth Southgate, has now emerged as a leading contender to take over after Euro 2020. United are keen for Solskjaer to turn things around, but the 46-year-old privately acknowledges he will not be given three years to win a trophy like Jurgen Klopp was at Liverpool. The fans chanted against the owners after losing to Burnley at Old Trafford last Wednesday and left before the full-time whistle. United face an FA Cup fourth-round tie at Tranmere on Sunday, then meet Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday trailing 3-1 from the first leg.
