EPL: Sending off was a pivotal point – Guardiola reacts to Man City’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has responded to his side’s Premier League 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Guardiola says defender, Oleksandr Zinchenko‘s red card was a key point during the encounter against Jose Mourinho’s men, adding that he told his players at half-time to be careful against Spurs.

Tottenham defeated Guardiola’s men at home, thanks to goals from Steven Bergwijn and Son Heung-min.

“With this performance from my players, how should I be critical of my players after this performance? I was discussing with my staff and my wife and some players,” BBC quoted Guardiola as saying after the game.

“It would be an incredible mistake to say how bad they are. It is not valid. Football is meant for creating chances and conceding few goals. Some times this season it has happened to us.

“The sending off was a key point. We finish with 10 or 11, and it’s completely different in terms of quality.

“I told the players at half-time, be careful, yellow cards are fast and quick action, and sometimes to make a decision at that moment is not easy.”

Coronavirus: Japan set to repatriate 200 citizens from Wuhan

Japan will send a chartered flight to the central Chinese city of Wuhan later in the day to repatriate about 200 of its citizens, the government says. The government will also send doctors, nurses and quarantine officers so that those Japanese citizens can undergo checkups on a plane, according to the health ministry. The aircraft is scheduled to come back to Japan on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi says. Manchester United may consider sacking manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, if results do not improve at the Old Trafford this season, the Daily Mail reports.
